eFit charges a one-off fee of $59 for the semester, taken during registration. How the fee is handled depends on your school, so read the section that matches how your course is set up.
Some schools cover eFit for everyone
If your institution has an arrangement with eFit, you never reach the payment step at all. Registration finishes and your account is active immediately. If your classmates are being asked to pay and you are not, nothing has gone wrong.
If you were given an access code
Some schools provide eFit through the course materials package for your class, and the package includes an access code that settles the fee. On the payment step there is a small link above the payment buttons that reads Do you have a promo code?. It is closed until you select it, so it is easy to miss. Select it, type your code into the box, and eFit checks it as you go. A full-access code activates your account straight away and there is nothing to pay. You can then sign in at efit.health with the username and password you just created. A discount code lowers the amount, and you pay the reduced price through the same buttons.
A few things to know about codes:
- Four or eight characters, letters and numbers only. No spaces, no dashes.
- Codes are not case sensitive, and any punctuation you type is ignored.
- Some are single use, which means the first person to enter one consumes it.
- Some are tied to a school or a specific course. A code from a different class can be rejected for yours, and that is the code working correctly.
- Codes can carry an expiry date, and can be switched off by whoever issued them.
"That code is not valid"
eFit gives the same answer for several situations, so work through them in order:
- Check the characters. Zero and the letter O, and one and the letter l, account for a good share of rejected codes. Retype it by hand; pasting often carries the wrong character along.
- Check it is yours. A code issued for another school or another course will not apply to your registration.
- Check it has not been used. Single-use codes work once. If a code was shared around a group chat, someone else may already have spent it.
If all of that checks out and it still will not take, open a ticket with the code, your username, and the course you are registering for.
I paid but my account is still inactive
Give it a few minutes and sign out and back in. Payment confirmation arrives from the payment provider on its own schedule, so it can land shortly after the page finishes, and eFit also sweeps for payments that completed without activating.
If you are still locked out after that, open a ticket with your username, the date, and the transaction or receipt number from your payment confirmation email. That number is what lets us match your payment to your account.
I paid, and my course materials already covered eFit
If you paid the fee and then learned that eFit access was already included with your course materials, open a ticket with your eFit username, the date you paid, and the amount. These are looked at case by case, and the sooner one arrives the more straightforward it is to sort out.
The semester fee and eFit Ongoing are different things
The $59 fee covers your course for the semester. eFit Ongoing is a separate, optional subscription you may be offered when your term ends, so that your grades, badges and history stay available and you can keep tracking afterwards. You never need eFit Ongoing to complete your course, and paying your semester fee does not sign you up for it.
