eFit has moved to Google Health for activity syncing. The direct Google Fit app and Fitbit app connections have been retired. This guide helps you switch over.
What changed
- You no longer connect the Google Fit app or the Fitbit app to eFit directly.
- You now connect Google Health one time, and it covers every device you use.
- Your Fitbit, Garmin, and Samsung devices still work. They send their data through Google Health instead of connecting to eFit on their own.
If you used Google Fit before
- Make sure your activity is reaching Google Health. On Android this happens through Android Health Connect (see Connect on Android With Health Connect).
- Open eFit, go to Sync Tracker, and if you were connected before, select Unsync Fitness Tracker first.
- Tap Connect with Google Health and sign in with the Google account that holds your activity.
If you used a Fitbit before
- Install or update the Google Health app. The Fitbit app became Google Health in May 2026, and your Fitbit pairs and syncs inside it directly, on Android and iPhone alike.
- In eFit, open Sync Tracker and select Unsync Fitness Tracker if you had the old Fitbit connection.
- Tap Connect with Google Health and approve the permissions.
If signing in with Google drops you on a Fitbit page asking for a password, see Sign In With Google Sends You to a Fitbit Page. It happens whether or not you ever owned a Fitbit.
Will I lose my old activity?
No. Reconnecting does not remove the activity history already recorded in eFit. The switch only changes how new activity reaches eFit.
