Connecting Your Fitbit to eFit

Connect Your Fitbit Device

eFit integrates directly with your Fitbit account to automatically track your daily activity. Here's how to connect.

Prerequisites

  • An active Fitbit account at fitbit.com
  • Your Fitbit device synced to the Fitbit app
  • An eFit account (already registered for your course)

Connection Steps

  1. Log in to eFit and go to your Dashboard
  2. Click "Connect Tracker" or navigate to the sync settings
  3. Select Fitbit from the list of available trackers
  4. You'll be redirected to Fitbit's authorization page
  5. Important: When prompted, you must select "Activity and Exercise" permissions. Without these, eFit cannot read your activity data.
  6. Click Allow to authorize the connection
  7. You'll be redirected back to eFit with your connection confirmed

What Data is Synced?

eFit retrieves the following from your Fitbit:

  • Daily Steps - Your total step count each day
  • Active Minutes - Fairly active and very active minutes combined
  • Heart Rate Data - If your device tracks heart rate
  • Activity Types - Logged exercises and workouts

Sync Frequency

Your Fitbit data syncs automatically. For the most accurate data:

  • Open your Fitbit app daily to sync your device
  • Ensure your phone has a stable internet connection
  • Data typically appears in eFit within a few hours of syncing to Fitbit

Troubleshooting

If your data isn't appearing:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and pull down to refresh
  2. Verify your data appears on fitbit.com
  3. Wait 2-3 hours for the sync to complete
  4. If still missing, visit the Help section in your dashboard to run the repair tool
