Using the Meal Planner Feature

eFit includes an advanced meal planning feature powered by Spoonacular to help you plan nutritious meals for the week.

Accessing the Meal Planner

  1. From your dashboard, navigate to the Meal Planner section
  2. If this is your first time, you'll need to set up your meal planner account
  3. Once connected, you'll see your weekly meal calendar

Weekly Meal View

The meal planner displays:

  • 7-day grid: Monday through Sunday
  • 3 meal slots per day: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
  • Today's highlight: Current day is marked with a badge
  • Week navigation: Browse previous or upcoming weeks

Adding Meals Manually

  1. Click Add Meal
  2. Choose to add a Menu Item (restaurant food) or Recipe
  3. Search for your desired meal
  4. Select the date and meal slot (breakfast, lunch, or dinner)
  5. Confirm to add it to your plan

AI-Generated Meal Plans

Let eFit create a complete meal plan for you:

  1. Click Generate Meal Plan
  2. Set your target calories (default: 2000)
  3. Choose a diet type if needed:
    • Gluten Free
    • Ketogenic
    • Vegetarian
    • Vegan
    • Paleo
    • Whole30
  4. List any ingredients to exclude (allergies, dislikes)
  5. Click generate to create your week's meals

Meal Details

Each meal in your plan shows:

  • Recipe image: Visual preview of the dish
  • Title: Name of the recipe
  • Cooking time: How long to prepare
  • Servings: Number of portions
  • Nutrition info: Calories, fat, protein, carbs
  • Source link: Full recipe instructions

Managing Your Plan

  • Delete a meal: Click the trash icon on any meal
  • Clear a day: Remove all meals for a specific day
  • View recipe: Click the info icon for full details

Tips for Success

  • Plan meals at the start of each week
  • Use the generated shopping list from recipes
  • Prep ingredients in advance
  • Adjust calorie targets based on your fitness goals
