eFit Minutes: 1 per minute of moderate effort, 2 per vigorous minute, from your heart rate, a logged workout, or a brisk walk (100+ steps a minute).
eFit builds this number from whatever your device shares through Google Health, so every tracker earns it the same way:
- Workouts you start on your watch or in a fitness app (walks, runs, cycling, swimming, strength, classes) count minute for minute. When the workout carries your heart rate, minutes at a vigorous heart rate count double. Yoga, pilates, and tai chi count at half, and meditation or stretching sessions do not count.
- Heart-rate zones. Fitbit and Pixel Watch report Active Zone Minutes, which feed eFit Minutes one-for-one: 1 per moderate (fat burn) minute, 2 per vigorous (cardio or peak) minute.
- Brisk walking that you never logged as a workout still counts when your device records 100 or more steps in a minute.
A day takes the best single view of your activity, so the same run is never counted twice. Workouts typed in by hand are recorded for your instructor and never count, and any single workout is capped at 3 hours (90 minutes when it has no heart-rate data). The weekly total of your eFit Minutes is compared with your steps, and the better of the two sets your grade.
